Pardon my 70's science vernacular but I was attempting encompass
the range of sensor chips rather than just calling them CCD.
Are you talking about full-motion
HD video.
The Bolex beam splitter on their early reflex cameras came
to mind. Light would not be diverted to a viewfinder but a
side mounted sensor. I don't know if this is possible given

There's GIMP as a freeware substitute for Photoshop. But is there
a freeware video editor that's pretty capable? For XP.
Something like Windows Movie Maker, but with less restrictive
output options (like h.264, for example), and more user friendly
than VirtualDub.

(Or time-lapse high-def, or what??)
If you need only "a small fraction" of light, does that mean
you have an ultra-sensitive photo sensor? Or that you are

Has this mixing of different technologies ever been done:
mating a photo sensor to a super eight camera?
I would reason to do such a task would be to take advantage
of the superior optics available on higher-end super 8 cameras
from Canon, Nizo, Beaulieu, and others.
Two ways it seems the task could be accomplished.

ProShow Producer allows one to set timings, backgrounds and music for
selected photos or the entire slideshow. It sells a "Family Memories"
set of slideshow templates for $25 that can probably be adjusted for a
funeral theme. Package includes templates, borders, masks, DVD menus,
royalty-free music.

Check out Corel's website. They have an automatic program you set for
length of slide, transition, etc. Put in as many photos as you want
and click go. They have a free, uncrippled, 30 day trial. I think
Magix has one also, but not sure if it puts a watermark on the trial
version, or limits # of slides. There are several programs that do
